Event Description

Baby, it's cold outside! Are you already feeling the urge to ditch the drudgery of winter? San Diegans can enjoy temperatures in the mid-to-high 60's with plenty of sunshine this time of year. Join us this February for Listen to the Wind (L2W), the nation's only sail and ski benefit weekend. Presented over two days (February 5th and 6th), L2W offers a day of sailing and a day of skiing, with 100% of proceeds going to auditory research which will benefit young children.

Rhada Kalluri
Dr. Radha Kalluri

On Saturday, join us for a fun-packed day on beautiful San Diego Bay. We begin the day with a 30 minute sailing class/race briefing, followed by boat handling practice, lunch on board, three short course races and an afternoon bay cruise. Wrap the day up with dinner by the bay. On Sunday, hit the slopes during prime skiing season, and enjoy a private limo bus ride to and from Snow Summit in Big Bear.

Thanks to our sponsors, L2W sail day (Saturday) offers direct opportunities for hard of hearing youth to participate in this educational, challenging and enriching team sport while enjoying sun and sailing. L2W is open to all participants.

And did we mention it's all for a good cause? Through L2W 2011, the Capita Foundation is pleased to support the research of Dr. Radha Kalluri and co-investigator Dr. Caroline Abdala, research scientists at the House Ear Institute who will be using funds in auditory research to considerably improve the way all newborn infants are tested for hearing disorders.
